LIFE WITHOUT ACCESS

CORE ISSUES OF ACCESS
Since 1997, South Asia Access has worked unceasingly to address five core issues individuals and families affected by disabilities in South Asia struggle with everyday.

50% of South Asian children are malnourished leading to stunting and disability. Less than 5% have access to rehabilitation services.

ENVIRONMENTS
Environmental degradation spreads disease. Buildings, roads, and public transport remain almost completely inaccessible to South Asians with disabilities.

ACADEMICS
Students with disabilities face social and institutional discrimination. 95% of special needs students have no access to special education.

80% of people with disabilities in South Asia are unemployed and a high percentage live in poverty with little financial support from their governments.

95% of South Asians, 1.75 billion people, are without the Gospel. 3,731 people groups remain unreached. Those with disability live without the hope of Christ and support of the local church.
